Hemant Nrutya Kala Mandir a pioneer institute of Dance & Music was Established in the year 1960. A well-known artist, Shri Narsing Bode is the founding father of this renowned Institute. Through this Institution we are serving the Society by promoting Indian Classical Dance ( Kathak, Odissi & Bharat Natyam ) and music ( Vocal And Instrumental ) and various other Cultural Activities.
The institution has produced a number of artists who have excelled in their respective field. Their performance was acclaimed and appreciated by one and all. Our students were also included in the foreign troupes when it visited japan, iran and France in 1972. The cultural Programs presented by our Artists were visualized and directed by the architects of this Institution.
We prepare nearly 300 student every year for various examinations of A.B. Gandharva Sangeet Mahavidhaylaya Mandal, Mumbai, and Prachin kala Kendra, Chandigarh . We are proud to mantion that the students from weaker sections are imparted instructions without charging any tuition- fee.
The great artists like Pt. Jasraj, Late Pt. Govind Prasad Jaipurwala, Late. Protima Bedi Late. Guru Kelucharan Mahaputra and Pt. Rajendra Gangani, Kathak Kendra, New Delhi have also visited and performed at our institution on the occasion of dance and music festivals and bestowed their blessings upon us. Pt. Birju Maharaj also visited our institute and bestowed his blessings on us.
Kum. Sheetal Watane, the student of our institute brought great laurels to this Institution. She was awarded the First Prize at Music and Dance Festival held at ujjain and organized by South Central Zone Cultural Centre, Nagpur in 1993. Her Performance at Raj Bhavan, Mumbai was highly appreciated by the Hon’ble Governor Shri P.C. Alexander. The Hon’ble Governor himself walked upto the stage and congratulated her, for her super performance. She was also awarded a prize at the hands of the Hon’ble Governer.
Kum. Sheetal Watane was also awarded Second prize at all youth and cultural Festival held at Kurukshetra on 21.02.94. She also performed at Travancore House organized by Lalit Kala Academy, New Delhi. She also secured first place in All India Competition of Odissi Dance organized by the Ministry of Human Resources and development at National Yuva Mahatsava 1994 held at Calcutta.

Similarly, Kum. Kamal Shri Jain was awarded first prize at All India Classical Dance competitiion of odissi dance at Ahmedabad, Gujarat and Ku. Renuka Waikar awarded second prize at Classical Dance competition of Kathak Dance at Pune, 2006 organized by Minisitry of Human resource and development at Nehru Yuva Kendra, New Delhi. Our Students have given the best performances at the National and State Level dance festivals.
